Elly and Adam - Third Time’s the Charm

Imagine planning your wedding for over a year only to be forced to postpone this carefully organized day… twice. Now imagine the excitement and relief when you can finally have your dream wedding two years later!

The third time was the charm for this lovely couple who chose to get married on the banks of Fairfield Lake at Camp Merrie-Woode. We started planning their fabulous soiree in the spring of 2019. Elly, a Camp Merrie-Woode alum always envisioned a ceremony at Camp, and we were so excited to bring her ideas to life in the gorgeous setting that Merrie-Woode has to offer.

The original plan was for a May 2020 wedding and then well… we all know what happened next. We ended up postponing twice, but in the meantime, Elly and Adam had a lovely intimate ceremony in the backyard in Virginia on their actual wedding date.

By May 2021 we were all ready to celebrate this very patient couple.

And celebrate we did it! It was an idllic spring day that started with a lovely ceremony at the Camp Merrie-Woode Chapel. The couple exchanged their vows lakeside, surrounded by panoramic views of the mountains. After the ceremony guests were transported to the tented reception which we built from the ground up in a field overlooking the lake. Elly’s vision for the wedding was “light and air with reflections of camp and nature.” We teamed up with Classic Event Rental and Crush Event Designs to bring this vision to life. From the barnwood floor to the circular bar and inviting lounge area there were plenty of spaces for guests to get comfortable or better yet tear up the dance floor. Floressence nailed it as always with their gorgeous flowers and romantic statement pieces.
