Trendy Bride Magazine Feature: Highlands Winter Wedding

We’re so excited to share the images from Laura and Clay’s wedding in Highlands, NC. Their wedding was featured in the Winter/Spring 2017 issue of Trendy Bride Magazine.

Laura and Clay’s wedding ceremony was the most unique and meaningful ceremony I’ve ever witnessed as it included two officiants that were part of their lives growing up, personalized readings from friends and family, and music played by their family. The ceremony was overflowing with love and it set the tone for a beautiful celebration and marriage.

The bridal party consisted of 28 bridesmaids and groomsmen, plus 4 flower girls and 2 small ring bearers. In keeping with the personalized theme, the florist – Sassafras Flowers, photographer – Callie Pitts Davis with Nancy Ray Photography, and videographer – Chad Cunningham with Wild Heart Studios were all friends of the family.

The strolling reception featured varying shades of grey linens with lace overlays and white floral arrangements with beautiful trailing greenery. The space was transformed with fabric hanging from the wood beams and from the rustic wooden barn doors leading from the barn into the main pavilion area for dinner and dancing.

Paige, the mother of the bride, and I had such fun designing the overall event and reception space. The pavilion featured a farm style head table for the bride, groom and their immediate families and was a focal point of the reception space with a silver beaded table runner, silver metallic chargers, gray and white linen napkins and a sweet loveseat for the newlyweds. The couple’s newly created monogram was used in everything from a custom floral wall feature to fabric napkins and a lit gobo that shone on the dance floor. The evening ended with a nine-piece band that was enjoyed by all.
