Jillian + Jonathan’s Canyon Kitchen Wedding
Jillian + Jonathan’s Canyon Kitchen Wedding
Jonathan and Jillian attended high school together in Florida, and although friends, they never dated. College took them in separate directions, but after graduation, Jillian ran into Jonathan when she moved to South Florida for law school. Their friendship soon blossomed into a relationship that led to a surprise proposal on a pier overlooking the water in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Struggling to find a venue at home that they loved, Jillian suggested they head to the mountains of Western North Carolina, where she had spent many summer vacations growing up. They selected one of our favorite venues, Canyon Kitchen in Lonesome Valley, for their wedding. Coordinating with the natural atmosphere of Canyon Kitchen, Jillian envisioned a rustic elegant theme for the ceremony + celebration to follow. One addition to that was the element of wine. There was the wine barrel top that guests signed for the “guest book” + the wine bottle hurricanes that we used throughout the venue. We enlisted Flora to collaborate with us on the design and floral elements. Using a palate of white, orange and light green Jillian wanted to complement the natural setting and incorporate birch containers and mercury vases for that subtle hint of elegance. Jeremy Russell captured the day beautifully as seen in the images in this blog post. After guests enjoyed the amazing food from Chef Fleer they danced the night away with We Got The Beat – one of my new favorite bands. Their energy and variety of music was endless and they kept the party going.
