Caroline and Bao’s Summer Garden Wedding at Old Edwards Inn

Caroline and Bao celebrated a beautiful summer garden wedding at Old Edwards Inn in Highlands, North Carolina. They wanted to create a joyful soiree that would allow their guests to relax and enjoy themselves. Natalie Watson beautifully captured the day and the breathtaking floral designed by Floressence Flowers. We were thrilled when Style Me Pretty selected this wedding to feature on their Little Black Book and Southeast blogs.

It was so wonderful that Caroline and Bao incorporated things that were most important to them in their day. Caroline and Bao love craft beer and they shared that with their guests with handmade wood beer flights during cocktail hour. Bao built giant jenga for their guests to play since that is one of their favorite games. They used regular sized jenga pieces for their guest book. I bet it will be so fun playing in the future with friends and family and recalling memories from their wedding day.

One of my favorite ideas was the succulent wall designed by Florresence Flowers! It began as the backdrop to the wedding ceremony before transitioning to the escort card display. Continuing with the DIY crafts, Bao built the chicken wire frames that the escort cards were pinned for the guests to find their tables. After the guests found their seats, it transformed into the backdrop to the photo booth and at the end of the night, guests were invited to take a succulent from the wall as a keepsake. We love finding ways to repurpose floral and decor, so a stunning feature like this succulent wall could be used throughout the evening.
