Flawless planning equals flawless implementation.

Communication, timelines and details are our specialty. We bring a truly honest and thoughtful approach to every event while providing necessary direction and guidance. We have refined our client deliverables including customized timelines, budget worksheets and client worksheets to ensure you are well-informed and are able to make timely decisions throughout the planning process.

A well-executed event takes a team of professional vendors. Collaborating with the right team is the key to an original and authentic event. We’ve spent nearly two decades developing relationships and we work with the finest vendors in the Southeast.

We feel fortunate to wake up every day and plan amazing events all over the region. A lot of coffee, a little bit of wine and our client’s dreams have led to 10 years of incredible weddings, festivals and corporate events. Thank you to all of our past clients and future clients for giving us the opportunity to do what we love.

Becca Stefan Knuth

Managing Partner

Having started my career in the entertainment industry working on feature films and commercials as an Assistant Director, I developed a solid background in organization and logistics.

Upon arriving in Asheville I landed a job with a marketing company planning and executing corporate events and meetings throughout the east coast. It was a natural transition to start my own company and utilize my skills and experience to create a successful event planning company with Missie.

Our forte is large scale events and we love a good challenge. We have planned everything from extensive corporate events to elaborate fundraisers and hundreds of luxury destination weddings. I love the planning process, coming up with creative and unique design concepts and cultivating relationships with my clients and vendors.

Missie and I have experience and a level of professionalism that exceeds most of our clients and vendors expectations. We truly love what we do and take pride in being a part of something that comes together and is one of the best days of someone’s life - be it a wedding, a corporate event or a festival.

Asheville has been my home for almost 20 years and while I am a beach girl at heart I love the mountains. When I am not executing events I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and watching the sunset as much as possible.

I've been an event planner my entire career and wouldn't know what to do otherwise. I love planning and executing events. I love people. I really love my job and the company Becca and I created.

My experience in managing nearly 800 events has been varied – everything from highly stylized themed parties and luncheons in the nonprofit sector to bridal shows, weddings and fashion shows in major markets in the Midwest. I even worked in the marketing department producing team events and conferences for an industrial manufacturer at the corporate level.

For eleven years, I worked as the Festival Director for the City of Asheville, North Carolina. I was responsible for 5 festivals, including Bele Chere – one of the largest, free music festivals in the Southeast - and consulting and permitting 100 events annually with an attendance of over 500,000 people. I managed a team of 6 staff members and served as the key media spokesperson to major media across the Southeast. I was the founder and director of the Asheville Film Festival & secured over $1 million in funding for city-wide festivals.

In 2008, Becca and I launched Asheville Event Co., a full service event planning and consulting company and we now manage over 40 events per year including weddings, corporate events and festivals. We are special event experts in budgeting, site research and selection, event logistics, vendors, sponsorship development, volunteer recruitment, community relations, marketing, public relations and all things Asheville, North Carolina.

I’m a mom, a runner and an animal-lover. I love rock music, shopping, the beach and calling Asheville, North Carolina home.

Caroline Livengood

Lead Planner

I grew up in the mountains of North Carolina and after working in Los Angeles for 6 years as a coordinator on feature films and TV shows, I was ready to return home to Asheville.

Event planning was a natural fit for my skills at organization, planning, and multitasking and my first job after moving back was with Asheville Event Company as an event assistant. 10 years later I have sharpened my skills and moved up to become a Lead Planner for many of our weddings and corporate events.

I love everything about event planning here in Western North Carolina - the people and the locations are the best you will ever find. My favorite part of the job is seeing my client’s dreams come true on their wedding day and watching their guests take in this beautiful place we are so lucky to call home.

When I’m not working you can find me hanging at home with my daughter, or out of town sampling one of the many local brews.

Brittany Ellis

Lead Planner/Event Assistant

I am a Texas girl, born and raised. After college in Mississippi, my husband and I moved to the WNC mountains to put down roots and start our family.

Although I’ve worked in marketing strategy and corporate events, my passion has always been in the planning and execution of personal events, particularly weddings. I enjoy working with the Asheville Event Co. team and our wonderful clients to create unforgettable experiences.

When I’m not working, I’m usually chasing after my daughter or my rescue dog, trying out a new local restaurant, or cheering on my Ole Miss Rebels. Hotty Toddy!

Jyl Deering

Associate Planner

I believe wedding planning has always been something I have been drawn to in my life. I started my wedding career in college, selling bridal gowns in Boston. I loved the experience but missed seeing the final package of the entire wedding. With that, I moved into the hotel side of weddings, from selling event space as well as servicing weddings.

I am from the New England area, and I am a transplant to NC, but consider NC my second home. The mountains of NC are truly magical, and my favorite place to help plan and host weddings. Spring is my favorite time in the mountains when things are blooming and the temperatures are perfect!

I love the logistics of weddings, timing, budgets and getting the core team together for the couple. I have a soft spot for romantic wedding dresses, an amazing band, and farm to table food. When I'm not working I love to spend time with my 2 cats, food-based travel & cheering on Duke basketball.
