I first met Rebecca and Nate about 14 months prior to their wedding. They had already selected the Basilica for their wedding ceremony and Deerpark at Biltmore Estate as their reception venue. They enlisted us to assist them with the necessary elements to bring their vision to life. For them the priority was that their guests have a great time.  It was essential to get a great band, keep the energy high and of course have some wonderful food and cocktails for everyone to enjoy. Rebecca and Nate are one of those couples that are full of adventure, love to travel and appreciate good food and wine. I loved planning their wedding with them. They knew exactly what they wanted and their main goal throughout the whole process was to make sure their guests had as much fun as they did celebrating their marriage – and did they ever! The Bloom Room brought their floral vision to life with fresh blooms and a beautiful hanging installation that surrounded the guests with nature. Two Ring Studios captured the beautiful joy and love that was apparent the whole day! One of our favorite bands, The Dickens, kept the dance floor packed the entire night!

We are so excited to be featured on The Modern Jewish Wedding for Jillian and Jonathan’s rustic, elegant wedding! Thank you, Modern Jewish Wedding!

Coordinating with the natural atmosphere of Canyon Kitchen, Jillian envisioned a rustic elegant theme for the ceremony and reception. There were many rustic and creative elements to their day, including a wine barrel top that guests signed for the “guest book”. Flora collaborated with us on the floral design and used a palate of white, orange and light green complementing the natural setting with birch containers and mercury vases for that subtle hint of elegance.

Annsley and Brad hold a special place in my heart. I loved working with them and their fabulous families. Annsley’s design and decor vision was something after my own heart and together with an awesome team of vendors we created a romantic blush wedding at Diana at Biltmore Estate. A lot of romantic, beautiful, draping floral by the incomparable Bloom Room was paired beautifully with gorgeous candlelight and crystal and gold chandeliers.  The beautiful lounge furniture by the incredible team at Classic Event Rental accented the tent and created spaces for their guests to enjoy themselves.

Diana at Biltmore Estate set the stage for a perfect celebration and the weather could not have been more gorgeous for their wedding day. The very talented Realities Photography by Jill Schwarzkopf captured the most stunning sunset overlooking Biltmore Estate and I think all of us felt very blessed to share in this wonderful couple’s most important day.

The day didn’t come without a small hiccup! The groom brought the wrong bowtie and you wouldn’t believe how difficult it was to find a simple white bowtie approximately 1.5 hours before the wedding.  Thankfully, the Asheville Event Co. team came through and delivered the correct bowtie minutes before the ceremony!

The five course meal by the catering staff at Biltmore Estate was incredible and one of my favorite party bands, We Got the Beat, keep the guests on the dance floor all night long!  The personalized sunglasses added a fun touch as the couple rode off into the sunset.

We wish Annsley and Brad a lifetime of love and happiness!

From the first meeting we had with Jamey and Elisabeth, their love and old-fashioned romance was evident.  They got engaged at Biltmore Estate in a spot very close to where they later celebrated their first dance as a married couple.  They’d been living in different cities during their courtship, so it was so much fun to plan the wedding with them and witness their excitement and joy to see each other every time they reunited, envisioning their perfect Asheville wedding weekend.

Family, friends and faith were very important to this couple and they made sure to incorporate all of them into the plans for their wedding weekend.  They had a beautiful, meaningful ceremony downtown at the historic Central United Methodist Church and their wedding party, made up of their friends and siblings, cut such a striking figure with the dapper guys in tuxes and ladies in navy.

When the party moved over to Diana at Biltmore Estate for the reception, which was perfectly decorated with flowers by Blossoms, a beautiful early fall evening made the perfect setting for a classic, romantic reception.  Stealing a few moments away together with their fabulous photographers, Matt and Kate from Altmix Photography, following behind, Jamey and Elisabeth were captured in some gorgeous moments with the sun setting and the timeless architecture of the Biltmore House as a back drop. The reception was so much fun – full of laughter and great photo ops as everyone, young and old, crowded the dance floor donning black and white Rayban style sunglasses the newlyweds handed out as favors.

Elisabeth’s parents arranged for a get-away car surprise: a vintage blue Rolls Royce Corniche pulling up in the darkness beside the glowing tent to whisk them away.  Though it was threatening, rain held out and the couple ran through a tunnel of loved ones with sparklers before driving off with the top down as Mr. and Mrs. Givens – ending a beautiful, classic evening on a perfect note.

The leaves were transitioning to beautiful shades of red and orange and the weather was absolutely beautiful on McCall & Glen’s October wedding day at Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina!

They chose a palette of gold, cream and black and incorporated a few special details as a nod to their love of hockey.

McCall’s dad cut grooves in over 100 hockey pucks and then painted them gold for their escort cards! They also doubled as souvenir for the guests with custom stickers on the back. McCall spent several months crafting her custom brooch bouquet, as well as creating table numbers with pictures of the couple through the years. Little DIY touches personalized their event and added to the elegant and classic decor.

Gold glitter arrows graced the walkway up to the ceremony that was lined with romantic petals and candles. The ceremony site at Diana has an incredible view of the Biltmore house and the mountains beyond it which are even more stunning in the Fall.

McCall purchased her Lazaro dress at Brides by Lori’s in Atlanta and was chosen to be featured on Say Yes To The Dress! The film crew captured her bridesmaids seeing her in the dress for the first time, walking down the aisle and dancing her first dance with Glen! They had some amazing lift sequences!  The episode aired last Friday and it was so wonderful to relive the memories! Woodward & Rick captured beautiful moments from their Diana Wedding at Biltmore Estate… enjoy!

Amanda and Matt were such a lively, personable and obviously-in-love couple to work with.  I so enjoyed getting to know them and their awesome families during our planning process.  Though they were living in Texas during the year preceding their wedding, they were very hands on and involved – Amanda was conscious of all the little touches throughout the whole weekend that would make it fun, memorable and uniquely Asheville for all their guests – from a rooftop pre-party on Saturday to take-away tacos as the last guests boarded the bus after the reception on Sunday.

I was thrilled to hear they’d be working with Parker from Parker J. Pfister Photography to capture their day. I’m such a fan of his work and the images of their celebration at the lovely and rustic Farm in Candler were striking and gorgeous, as I knew they would be.

Amanda and Matt have wonderful families – Amanda is one of four sisters who all made up her beautiful bridal party.  The youngest relatives stole the show, though, with Amanda’s adorable nephew Owen as a most dapper high-fiving ring bearer, while Matt’s nieces Elizabeth and Megan were absolutely cherubic little flower girls.  Amanda and Matt’s ceremony was touching and personal – I loved that Amanda had both her mom, Susan and dad, Tim, walk her down the aisle together.

We had a beautiful (if warm!) late summer wedding at The Farm in Asheville. A lovely blue sky set the stage for their Labor Day weekend wedding, and the newlyweds, their friends and family danced the night away to awesome band, Folk Soul Revival. Colorful Palate exceeded expectations, as usual, with a delicious, southern-flavored spread with assorted desserts to complement the lovely and tasty cake from Tiffany’s Baking Co.

Amanda and Matt were an absolute honor to work with – planning with them was truly a pleasure all the way through! They were so much fun and managed to keep their focus on the most important things throughout the process: sharing their love with friends and families and providing one heck of a fabulous weekend for all their guests.  I hated to see the night end and am anxiously awaiting news that another Griffin girl is engaged – if you need a planner, sign me up!

Caroline and Bao celebrated a beautiful summer garden wedding at Old Edwards Inn in Highlands, North Carolina. They wanted to create a joyful soiree that would allow their guests to relax and enjoy themselves. Natalie Watson beautifully captured the day and the breathtaking floral designed by Floressence Flowers. We were thrilled when Style Me Pretty selected this wedding to feature on their Little Black Book and Southeast blogs.

It was so wonderful that Caroline and Bao incorporated things that were most important to them in their day. Caroline and Bao love craft beer and they shared that with their guests with handmade wood beer flights during cocktail hour. Bao built giant jenga for their guests to play since that is one of their favorite games. They used regular sized jenga pieces for their guest book. I bet it will be so fun playing in the future with friends and family and recalling memories from their wedding day.

One of my favorite ideas was the succulent wall designed by Florresence Flowers! It began as the backdrop to the wedding ceremony before transitioning to the escort card display. Continuing with the DIY crafts, Bao built the chicken wire frames that the escort cards were pinned for the guests to find their tables. After the guests found their seats, it transformed into the backdrop to the photo booth and at the end of the night, guests were invited to take a succulent from the wall as a keepsake. We love finding ways to repurpose floral and decor, so a stunning feature like this succulent wall could be used throughout the evening.

2014 was a great year for Asheville Event Co. Our 2014 planning continued all the way to our last event of the year on December 27th! Tess and Hannah celebrated their Bat Mitzvah at Lioncrest at the Biltmore Estate. We were invited to help plan their soiree celebrating their achievements. They envisioned a fun, yet classy, winter themed event and we helped bring that vision to life with a group of talented wedding professionals. Blossoms at Biltmore Park decked out Lioncrest with hanging snow globes that made the guests feel like they had walked straight into a winter wonderland (although Biltmore kept everyone warm)! The silver mercury vases and lovely winter floral arrangements set the stage for a memorable event. Split Second Sound got everyone up on their feet for fun games on the dance floor, such as the limbo, and for dancing the Hora! Enjoy the gorgeous images from this winter wonderland Bat Mitzvah courtesy of Katy Cook Photography!

I knew this was bound to be a fun wedding when I found out that Kylie & Will met at work while pranking another co-worker!  Not only were the smiles and laughter abundant during our meeting, but love was definitely tying these two together. During the course of the weekend, so many fun elements came into play….a incredible cigar themed rehearsal dinner held at Claxton Farm, a karaoke after party held at Packs Tavern, apple cider bourbon cocktails greeting the guests at The Venue, a funfetti wedding cake and a caramel apple pumpkin cake complete with a Batman poking out of it! The night was full of beauty, laughter and dancing after a scrumptious family style dinner at The Venue.  Here are just a few pictures that remind me of what a incredible couple Kylie & Will are….all my best to you my friends!!
